A local shop has a S&W Model 39-2 in excellent condition for $375, sharp rifling, finish in really good shape. It looks exactly like except in better shape.

No box, one magazine. It's a consignment gun along with the Argentine Hi Power I was looking at for the same price but decided it had too much slide wiggle in the slide/frame fit. I'm thinking this M39 has seen very little use and mostly sat in a safe but wanted to look for opinions.

I think $375 is a reasonable price for a double action metal frame pistol from a company like S&W.It seems like it's hard to find real information on these pistols due to their age and being overshadowed by newer wonder nine guns with higher capacity. I'm not worried about the capacity too much since I normally carry a 1911 and this is mostly going to be a range gun. How do they shoot?

Makes me think the gun has to be capable of somewhat decent accuracy since it still has strong rifling.And yeah, I'm usually not too impressed with the 9mm cartridge but with modern JHP +P ammo, I think it's acceptable for close range self defense.
